Hawaiian Spirituality & Huna Kalani
|
|

Huna Kalani refers to the
older pre-Christian Hawaiian traditions that might be called
magic. If magic is a name you use for a technology you don't understand
- then Huna Kalani can provide you with a deep understanding that you can use to
decipher many other magical paths.
Huna Kalani can also help you learn, appreciate and respect ancient Hawaiian traditions, and the
Hawaiian keepers of those traditions. You can learn Huna Kalani in
Hawaii and elsewhere with kumu Martyn Kahekili Carruthers.
Huna means "hidden" and
Kalani means "of heaven" or "of the chiefs".
Kala means to clean, to enlighten and to forgive. Here are some
of the central points of Huna Kalani.
Huna Healing and Ohana .
Hawaiian Spirituality .
Kumulipo .
Ho'oponopono
Huna Kalani can teach you how your pono
(righteous behavior), aloha (love) and mana (power) interact with your
consciousness, health and relationships; and how
changing one affects the others. You can learn these themes in a series of
experiences that explore the relevance and application of Hawaiian traditions in your life - and in
your relationships.

Hawaiian Spirituality |
Huna Kalani offers
information about and experience of pono (right living),
aloha (love) ohana (community) and mana
(power). Join us to explore the beauty and effectiveness of Hawaiian
traditions of ho'omanamana and ho'oponopono.
We have been blessed with
personal instruction of many Hawaiian kupuna (elders). Some are
mentioned here and some prefer privacy.
Huna
Kalani
Huna Kalani is
presented in a natural sequence from Huna 1 to Huna 5. Each Huna Kalani segment
explores different topics and can be attended without prerequisites. Huna 1 -
4
are taught internationally, and Huna 5 is taught only in Hawaii.
Huna Kalani 1
Learn about Captain Cook and his
"discovery" of Hawaii (local Kealakekua traditions refer to
a wrecked Spanish galleon over 100 years before Cook arrived, and to
"blue-eyed Hawaiians" in that area). In this huna workshop,
you can explore the
popular huna created by Max Freedom Long - a three-mind model of consciousness -
and compare it to the healing models still used by native Hawaiian healers.
Explore ho'oponopono
- a basis of the Hawaiian aloha culture. Explore
your connection to Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess.
Learn how to build inner harmony and improve the relationship between your conscious
and unconscious minds. Learn a multi-dimensional Hawaiian prosperity chant! And
learn how to communicate with your family spirit (aumakua).
Explore the intrinsic meaning of a Hawaiian
kanaka symbol which summarizes the Soulwork Systemic Coaching strategy.
(This symbol can be found in the ancient petroglyph fields in the traditional
home of Pele - Hawaii Volcano Park.)
Open the Pandora's Box of your relationships and
discover how the health of your body, your mind and your relationships are
connected. Witness and participate in many demonstrations of Huna diagnosis and
Huna healing magic.
Huna Kalani 2
Magic is a word for technology that we cannot explain.
Explore your
connections to your seen and the unseen worlds. Explore ho'omanamana, or
empowerment, and how to increase the rate of "coincidences" around you - a
feature of "magic". Explore your connections to the elements (kumu):
Earth (honua), Air (ha), Fire (ahi), Water (wai)
- and how to access and use these magical elements in everyday life.
Use elementary Huna
to provide resources for life challenges. Start building connections to your
ancestors - your male and female lineages. Learn a Hawaiian chant for clarifying
and cleaning your relationships.
Explore the hidden depths of
Hawaiian Kumulipo
- the "family map" of
Hawaiian gods ... and a full description of the process of creation - and uncreation.
Huna Kalani 3
Explore moe uhane or Hawaiian
Dreamtime. Who is "the Dreamer" and who is "the Dreamed"?
Explore hakalau - kahuna consciousness - a
place of balance between dreams and reality, which is neither dream nor reality.
Learn how to use hakalau to create dreams that change reality.
This workshop includes
many huna dreamtime and hakalau exercises that will challenge and
perhaps change
your map of reality.
Explore
"dreaming together" - how to experience "dreamtime" with another person to
discover and change both internal and external reality. Click here for
Dreamtime.
Huna Kalani 4
Explore your connections to I'o
(source), to your family, to your ancestors, to the natural world and to
the multi-dimensional reality that we all share.
Learn ways to dissolve
old family traditions that do not serve you. Explore your connections to
unseen worlds, and to the dimensions of papa and awaiku.
We stay in South Kona (Big Island) and
present Huna Kalani on or near Kealakekua Bay (weather permitting), with our
open-air classroom under the trees near the ancient Hikiau heiau or temple
where Captain Cook was deified. Sea turtles
and wild dolphins swim in this protected bay regularly, and humpback whales are frequent winter
visitors.
Kealakekua
means "path of the gods".
(Martyn calls it a "stairway to heaven") Learn in the ruins of temples and old
villages, in the shadow of high cliffs with burial caves of Hawaiian
kings. Kealakekua Bay is also a protected underwater park - swim,
body surf, kayak or snorkel before and after learning Huna Kalani! Explore
hidden beaches and tropical gardens, and refuel with fresh local
tropical fruit and hand-picked, fresh-roasted Kona coffee! It doesn't get much better!
In the afternoons we
visit sacred sites, ancient temples, petroglyph fields and
other energy centers in Volcano Park, Pu'uhonua, Kau, Kohala etc. You
can learn ho'oponopono and ho'omanamana as you discover
hidden worlds...
Huna Kalani 5 is experiential,
and each Huna 5 is unique. Explore your connections to the elements and
journey between
worlds. Probably you will have your own encounters with Hawaiian entities...
and you can take home your own tales of mystery. Advanced students learn
"kahuna symbols" and how to use them.
We can help you find
appropriate accommodation - whether you prefer five-star hotels or an
in-tents experience! Most group members stay at inexpensive hotels in South Kona
and share economy rental cars. Enjoy unusual tropical fruits,
fresh fish and Hawaiian specialties. You can minimize expenses and share
evenings with new-found friends - and perhaps visit the luxurious
Waikoloa hotels for evening entertainment.
