Following our systemic coach training, many graduates want to improve their ability to coach partners (Systems 8), families (Systems 9), teams (Systems 10) and businesses (Systems 11).

To provide effective coaching or training at work, you will likely require approval and support from:

  • line managers
  • founder / CEOs
  • senior managers
  • Human Resources
  • potential participants

Offer managers access to systemic coaching, enabling them to view team or organizational assessments, participate in discussions or coach participants. When the key players want to be involved, you may offer to stay with them as a consultant until they can manage the program alone.

Appreciate Diversity

Accepting diversity can be a powerful advantage in any relationship system. Understanding and reconciling different perspectives allow stronger relationships which stimulate productivity and innovation. Systemic coaching can provide creative solutions for cultural problems.

Demonstrate Competence

Success in systemic coaching and counseling requires an ability to perceive and interpret multiple perspectives to create solutions for systemic problems. You can gain intercultural competence through our training, supervision and experience.

  • Offer proof that you can deliver.
  • Offer flexible, cost-effective and convenient elements.
  • Show where their people are now, and where they can be.
  • Show that your goals are aligned with their organizational system.
  • Show concrete results. Show typical "before" and "after" positions.
  • Emphasize systems thinking, as you assess their coaching needs.
  • Offer experiences. Provide key people with experiences of systemic coaching.
  • Assume that people are curious, but that they have little idea about what you offer.
  • Show that you understand their needs; (profile some groups and teams who are in conflict).

Gaining Support for Systemic Management

To gain management support for systemic coaching, show how systemic leadership can help the managers and the organization. Some applications of our systemic coaching are:

  • provide conflict resolution
  • provide personal appraisals
  • make recruitment decisions
  • coach teams to select leaders
  • prepare candidates for promotion
  • dissolve personal issues that limit key people
  • replicate high performance across an organization
  • coach leaders to become examples of competence
  • provide couple coaching for top managers and their spouses

Coaching Contracts & Systemic Leadership

Perhaps offer a six or twelve months contract, which can be extended. Show that you will support them. Offer distance coaching. Confirm that you will be proactive, even when staff are difficult to reach.

  • Enable managers to use systemic diagnosis.
  • Support participants as they apply systemic skills to their work.
  • Transfer expert knowledge and skills to participants with Expert Modeling.
  • Report successes to line managers to emphasize the value of your training.
  • Encourage managers to participate in discussions and coach participants.

When the key players want to be involved, offer to stay with the project as a consultant.
