The following actions can be followed if a sudden

The receptionist can promptly call the Power Company (#)
and ask for an approximate blackout period. The receptionist can then
promptly inform offices in the following order:

- Assistant Director (#)
Electrical Blackout Warning
The following notification sequence can be used if notice
is received that an electrical blackout will soon occur.
A power company representative should contact the receptionist ( #).
The receptionist will promptly notify offices in the
following order:

- Assistant Director (#)
The Director and Electrical Engineer can decide
appropriate communication. The receptionist can then notify offices in the
following order:
- Information Management (#)*
- Computer Support / Operations (#)*
- Physical Plant (#)*
- Accommodation / Dining Services (#)*
- Director's Secretary (#)
* These offices usually need time to run shutdown and
warm-up procedures.
The Physical Plant Director's Secretary can notify offices
in the following order:
- Assistant Director (#)
- Vice President of Administration (#)
- Housing / Dining Services (#)
- Building Representatives
- Risk Management (#)
- Plant Control Desk (#)
The Plant Control Desk can notify:
- Heating Plant Chief (#)
- Duty Shift Supervisor
- PA Announcement to Buildings
The Mechanical Maintenance Chief (#) can notify:
- Mechanical Maintenance staff
