If a suspicious object is found that could be an explosive
device or an incendiary device:
Do not touch or disturb an unknown device.
Do not touch or disturb anything close to an unknown device.
If an unknown device is located within a building
following a bomb threat, activate the fire alarm to evacuate the building.
The employee finding the device can immediately notify
the emergency coordinator as to what was found and where it is located.
The emergency coordinator can evacuate that part of the building.
The emergency coordinator can notify the Fire
Department and Police Department.
The emergency coordinator can inform the responding
Firemen and Police Officers of the device location.
Driveways around the building can be kept clear.
A decision to re-enter the building can be made by the
emergency coordinator in consultation with a senior member of the Police Department or the Fire
Department.
The results of an investigation can be used to improve
the emergency procedures
